Crispy Whitebait

Okay, I can promise you that this will be the simplest and shortest post ever. And that’s because this “recipe” is hardly even that. These crispy whitebait are simply dusted in a little flour that has been seasoned with sea salt and pepper, then shallow fried on a high heat in some light olive oil. Squeeze a little lemon juice over the top, (or if you’re a salt fiend like me, a little more sea salt on top). And that’s it.

Cheap, fast, healthy. And by the way my four year old loves these, he calls them fish chippies.

Bon apetit.

  1. Yeah I love these too. You can so easily sit there and just eat a whole bowl of these with a glass of wine or a beer. Yum, now I have cravings.

    1. I made far too much last time, and of course ate most of it…
