Merry Christmas 2014

Here we are at the end of yet another year, gearing up to celebrate another Christmas. Although I must admit I am putting off the food shopping until the last minute, which isn’t the wisest thing, I know. {Although I did make an exception to drive halfway across town this morning to pick up the suckling pig for our Christmas Day spit roast}. I thought I’d share some last minute menu suggestions for the last post of the year. Most of them would be geared toward celebrations in the southern hemisphere and a warmer climate but I have tried to include cold weather options too.

However and whoever you celebrate with I wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas. Thanks for reading and following Delicious this year, and I look forward to sharing new cooking and foodie adventures in 2015.

Christmas Eve in our house has traditionally meant a seafood feast but in recent years there’s usually some seafood to be seen on the Christmas Day menu. This year’s Christmas Day we’ll be enjoying the spit roasted suckling pig, separate stuffing of prosciutto, fig, and sage, a cheesy potato bake, mixed vegetables baked with apples, some kind of salad picked straight from the garden, and a pavlova with some fresh fruit and a cheese board for later.

No wonder my jeans feel tight just at the thought.

Plus of course lots of champagne, lots of joy, and a moment to acknowledge how blessed we are to be able to celebrate Christmas with the people we love.

Happy holidays to you all, and I’ll see you next year.

Ana.
