Sunday sessions, soundtrack to my life: BROS

“When, will I, will I be famous?”

1988: I’m in my second year of high school, have braces, frizzy hair, and zero fashion sense.

It is also the year Bros ruled my world.

I spent hours drooling over twins Luke and Matt Goss:

{Matt’s face was a bit longer, Luke’s a bit rounder}

…many frustrated hours wondering why Craig Logan was allowed in the band when he obviously wasn’t as cute as the Goss brothers:

…many hours at school trying to master their logo on the inside of my textbooks:

…and so many many happy hours listening to their album Push. And through a distant cousin who appreciated the extent of my devotion and worship of the band, an actual photograph taken at a press conference in Sydney courtesy of her photographer uncle.

I loved them so much that I now have no idea where that photo ended up.

But for the rest of my days I will not be able to hear this song without remembering every single word, note, high note, and nuance.

Ah, boy bands.

Remember to check out Rosie’s entry right HERE for your Sunday taste of 90’s grunge goodness.

Til next time,

Ana.

  1. I am unfamiliar with this trio–is the one twin wearing a basically bedazzled leather jacket with a crescent moon on it?! I don’t know what to expect when I hit play but here I go!
